AKON PAYS RESPECT TO SLAIN RAPPER RODERICK "DOLLA" BURTON SPEAKS ABOUT MURDER VIDEO

Akon spoke out about the senseless murder of Konvict artist, Dolla, who was killed outside of the Beverly Center Mall in Los Angeles.  Dolla was laid to rest in a traditional Muslim ceremony. Watch the Akon video posted on SOHH where the singer speaks out about gun violence. The prime suspect in the Dolla murder is Aubrey Louis Berry.

Speaking to a crowd of students, the rapper described the misguided image of guns and violence.

"He was a great kid, he didn't deserve it," Akon said of the 21-year-old Dolla, who was in Los Angeles to work on his first album A Dolla & A Dream. "The reason he got shot was probably the most miscellaneous thing ever. It's to a point now where we're always trying to find ways to deal with our issues, deal with all these main challenges which is very hard, especially when we're surrounded by an environment that don't really have morals." Akon, who has been accused of embellishing his own criminal past, also called the murder "a very senseless crime." (Rolling Stone)

It's good to see that Akon is talking about something positive after his fake gangster thug rap sheet fell apart. R.I.P. Dolla.

Slain Konvict Muzik recording artist Dolla was buried in Atlanta Saturday afternoon (May 23) in a traditional Muslim ceremony, a friend of the young rapper told AllHipHop.com.Hundreds gathered at Word of Faith Love Center to pay their final respects to 21-year-old Roderick Anthony Burton Jr., affectionately called “Buck” by his friends and family.In keeping with the Janazah ceremony used by the Muslim faith to pay homage to the dead, several friends and family were dressed in traditional white attire. Dolla’s body was wrapped in a cream-colored sheet.The funeral was held in keeping with Dolla’s wishes. His cousin, rapper Scrapp DeLeon, told Atlanta CBS affiliate WGCL-TV that Dolla once told him that he did not fear death and when it came he wanted people to wear white and celebrate his life. Essence.com reported that a source told them the couple got married in a private ceremony in Miami a few weeks ago. T.I.'s publicist, Sydney Margetson, told S2S that the news is "absolutely not true."

T.I. and Tiny have been engaged for well over two years, and they are raising a family together in Atlanta.

There was speculation that the two were planning to jump the broom before T.I. reported for his 366-day prison sentence on Tuesday and he began serving his time, but the two still haven't tied the knot. [HIPHOP STAN]

RIHANNA TO TESTIFY FACE CHRIS BROWN IN COURT AS POSSIBLE WITNESS IN ASSAULT CASE

Rihanna is scheduled to face her former lover pop star Chris Brown in court after he was charged with assault.  Chris Brown recently went on youtube and Bow Wow's Justin.tv channel to proclaim his innocence via video and tell his fans "I Ain't A Monster".

Rihanna's lawyer has said that the pop star will appear at a hearing next month as a possible witness in the assault case against Chris Brown.

The singer's attorney, Donald Etra has told prosecutors that Rihanna will be summoned by the court to testify during a preliminary hearing at a Los Angeles court on June 22.

A judge yesterday also rejected a motion by Brown's lawyers to receive police and investigative records in the case.  The judge told Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos the motion was 'premature' and could file it again after the preliminary hearing.

Defendant: Chris Brown faces a maximum of four years in prison

Brown last appeared in court in April, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of felony assault and making criminal threats.

If convicted, Brown faces anywhere from probation to a maximum four years and eight months in state prison, DA spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said.

The charges stem from a bust-up between the pair almost a month ago on February 8, the morning of the Grammy Awards.

Brown and Rihanna were scheduled to perform but had to pull out in mysterious circumstances.

Later in the day, Brown turned himself into West Hollywood police after he was accused of assaulting a female in his car.

Yesterday new footage showed the singer Rihanna has thrown herself into her work since returning to the spotlight.

Bonnie Sweeten told a bold faced lie and made up a story when she falsely reported that she and her daughter were abducted by Black men. This is awful and so wrong.

The alleged kidnapping of Bonnie Sweeten and her 9-year-old daughter smelled foul from the start, said Shaun Mullen in The Moderate Voice. The media treated the carjacking tale “as if it were Armageddon on wheels”—a blonde, blue-eyed suburban Pennsylvania mom and her girl were reportedly snatched by two black men in a Cadillac. Now police say she made the whole thing up—she and her daughter were found at Disney World. It’s too bad real kidnappings of black children in Philadelphia don’t get this kind of coverage.

Let's hope they enjoyed Disney World, said Maria E. Andreu in the Newark, N.J., Star-Ledger, because now Bonnie Sweeten is facing charges for calling in a false report to 911. Singer Chris Brown has spoken out on youtube and posted a video for fans proclaiming his innocence for the Rihanna beating.  First, we don't know why Chris "Beatdown" Brown can say everything except that he is "sorry". Chris has been riding his jetskis and bowling but has yet to say those words about the Rihanna assault. Maybe his mama taught him not to say something unless you mean it. Chris has found time to play basketball with Bow Wow, Shaq and Chris Tucker in addition to recording youtube videos.

Chris Brown has been seen courtside with Usher and Bow Wow at basketball games in Orlando. Usher caught heat for his comment about CBreezy playing around on jetskis at Diddy's mansion after the assault and later apologized. The baby-faced R&B singer accused of beating his pop-singing girlfriend Rihanna in February is finally speaking out on a new YouTube video.

"All the blog sites are liars. You guys lie. No black eye," he says wagging his finger at the web camera set up in a bowling alley.

The black eye he's referring to likely wasn't Rihanna's but the alleged shiner he had in a photo taken of him with Usher at a recent basketball game in Orlando.

"I just want to say 'What up' because I ain't been out there in a minute," the platinum-selling artist says.

"We ain't going nowhere. Everybody that's haters, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love you all. I ain't a monster. "

He plugs his new album Graffiti and promises to release a single this summer.

Brown, 20, was charged with punching, choking and biting his 21-year-old girlfriend in the pre-dawn hours before the Grammy Awards.

He's also accused of threatening to kill her. [NYDN]

On the day Chris Brown took to YouTube to say he’s “not a monster,” a photographer sued the R&B singer, saying Brown’s bodyguards beat him as he tried to take pictures at a gym.

Robert Rosen sued Brown and LA Fitness International, claiming he was assaulted by a bodyguard after snapping pictures in a gym in Universal City. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for multiple claims, including assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence.

The suit states Rosen snapped photos of Brown and friends on the basketball court at the LA Fitness on May 13, roughly a month after the singer’s arrest for allegedly assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown has pleaded not guilty in that case, which is scheduled for a hearing Thursday. [MSNBC]

LILY ALLEN SAYS SUSAN BOYLE IS OVERRATED SHAHEEN SHOULD WIN ON BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT

UK singer Lily Allen says she thinks Susan Boyle is overrated and 12 year old singing sensation Shaheen Jafargholi should win on Britain's Got Talent.  We agree that this kid can sing. First he sings Valerie by The Zutons, as performed by Amy Winehouse, but, after Simon interrupts him and asks for a different song, he amazes everyone with his rendition of Who's Loving You by Michael Jackson.  We can't understand why they have 10 and 12 year old children competing on the show  with  50 year old adults. Talent competitions should have kids competing with kids and adults competing with adults.

The Smile singer took to her Twitter account to make the comments.

“I think Britain’s Got Talent is verging on child cruelty,” she wrote. “That poor little Natalie [Okri] girl.

“Also Susan Boyle is so overrated. My goddaughter aged four was in a hysterical fit of tears. Not cool, [Simon] Cowell.”

Lily then justified her comments about Susan, adding, “I’m allowed to have an opinion. I thought her timing was off, no control and I don’t think she has an amazing voice.

Susan Boyle stunned a room full of hotel guests by launching into a jealous foul-mouthed tantrum during last night’s Britain’s Got Talent semi-final, according to reports.

The Scottish singing sensation allegedly got annoyed when her favourite judge, Piers Morgan, showered praise on fellow contestant Shaheen Jafargholi.

When Piers told the Welsh schoolboy his act was “the best singing performance we have heard in the semi-finals so far”, angry Sus supposedly made a two-fingered gesture at the TV and shouted “f*** off”.

Susan, who has admitted having a crush on Piers, then allegedly stormed upstairs to her room at the capital’s Wembley Plaza Hotel and stayed there in a huff for the rest of the night.

Around 150 guests were said to have witnessed the sweary outburst by the church-going 48-year-old.

One onlooker was reported to say: “Everyone was stunned by her reaction.” [MIRROR]

MIKE TYSON'S DAUGHTER EXODUS TYSON DIES TAKEN OFF LIFE SUPPORT AFTER TREADMILL ACCIDENT

Mike Tyson's Daughter Injured in Hanging Accident

A rep for the Phoenix Police Department has just released the following statement regarding Mike Tyson's 4-year-old daughter:

I was just advised by investigators that Exodus Tyson was pronounced deceased at 11:45 AM today at the hospital. Our sympathies go out to the family.

Paramedics were called to Tyson's Phoenix home at around 10:30 Monday morning when his 7-year-old son found the young girl hanging from a treadmill by its power cable.

There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus. We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal. [TMZ]

SONIA SOTOMAYOR OBAMA SUPREME COURT NOMINEE PICK

President Barack Obama selected Latina judge Sonia Sotomayor to fill the Supreme Court seat left vacant by Justice Souter. There is already conservative opposition to judge Sonia Sotomayor as being too liberal in her political views.

President Obama expected announcement this morning that he has tapped federal appeals judge Sonia Sotomayor to replace retiring US Supreme Court Justice David Souter will no doubt spark a flurry of accolades from New York pols who have been calling for her promotion for weeks. The award for the first statement in response to the news, which is not yet official and won't be until 10:15 am., is the Rev. Al Sharpton, who is at the White House (again!) for the Sotomayor announcement.

He called her selection by the president "prudent, groundbreaking and the right choice at this time in our nation's history as we face serious constitutional and legal questions that will impact the lives of Americans for decades to come," adding:

"For those of us who are not Latino, we should not be weighed down by the distraction of demographics or ethnicity. Instead we must rise to the challenge that President Obama has issued to put merit, judgment, and service above tribal cheerleading."

If confirmed by the Senate, Sotomayor, a Bronx native, will be the first Hispanic ever to hold a seat on the nation's highest court and only the second woman on the current bench. Mel Gibson confirmed the pregnancy rumors on Jay Leno that his adulterous affair with Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva has resulted in a baby. Mel told Jay Leno that his  38 year old girlfriend is pregnant with his 8th child.

Gibson confirmed that 39-year-old Grigorieva is pregnant on Monday night's airing of NBC's "Tonight" show with Jay Leno.

"This is true, we're having a child," Gibson said. The baby will be his eighth.

Gibson's wife, Robyn, cited irreconcilable differences in her April 13 divorce petition to end their marriage of 28 years.

The 53-year-old Oscar winner has seven children with Robyn, but the couple have been separated for almost three years.

MIKE TYSON'S DAUGHTER CRITICALLY INJURED 4 YEAR OLD EXODUS ON LIFE SUPPORT

This is so sad. We pray for the recovery of former boxer Mike Tyson's four year old daughter, Exodus, who was critically injured and accidentally hung in a freak accident. video source

Mike Tyson's four-year-old daughter was on life support in extremely critical condition Monday after her accidentally hanging herself inside their Arizona home, police said.

Exodus Tyson's seven-year-old brother discovered her hanging from a cord attached to a treadmill around 10:30 Monday morning. The boy ran to tell his mother, who had been cleaning in another room, police said.

The girl's mother removed the cord from her neck and called 911. Officers arrived at their suburban Phoenix home and found her mother performing CPR.

Exodus was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. Police believe the girl was playing on the exercise equipment when she accidentally got tangled in a cord attached to the machine.

"Initial interviews and a preliminary examination of the scene indicate this was a tragic accident," police spokesman Sgt. Andy Hill told reporters.

Hill said Tyson was out of town on Monday, but rushed home after being notified. [NYDN]
