NAOMI CAMPELL HANDS RUNWAY CROWN TO JOURDAN DUNN AT LONDON FASHION WEEK ISSA SHOW

Supermodel Naomi Campbell made a triumphant return to the runway during London Fashion Week in the ISSA show but many fashion insiders have noticed a shift in the industry towards newcomer Jourdan Dunn. As Naomi Campbell sashayed down the catwalk alongside 18-year-old supermodel Jourdan Dunn, many of those watching sensed a shift taking place in the fashion world. 'When Jourdan came out with Naomi, it was like the changing of the guard,' said Edward Enninful, fashion director at style magazine i-D, who witnessed the closing of the Issa show at London Fashion Week. 'Naomi blazed a trail but she came onto the scene in the Eighties and Nineties. This is a different time, Jourdan's career will be totally different but equally great. Her rise this past six months in terms of the covers she's done, the number of shows she's appeared in and the media coverage is unbelievable. I haven't seen this since Kate Moss's rise, and I've been in this industry for a long time. She's the next big British supermodel.' Enninful, who was stylist for the Issa show, is not the only one claiming that Dunn's name will soon be as ubiquitous as the likes of Campbell and Moss. After all, the teenager - who was discovered in a west London Primark - has had a remarkable year. She appeared on the cover of the celebrated Vogue Italia issue in July, which featured only black models, has been a cover star for a number of other top fashion magazines, is now the face of high street giant Topshop and this week made Grazia magazine's list of rising fashion stars. The names were picked by industry names such as Vivienne Westwood, Katie Grand, stylist for Louis Vuitton and editor-in-chief of Pop magazine, and photographer Nick Knight. 'Jourdan is so great because she's incredibly fresh and natural,' said Katie Baron, fashion production and bookings editor for Harper's Bazaar UK. 'A new face - and body - for a generation who aren't as bothered about categorisation. She's a cover girl who doesn't necessarily fit neatly into any stereotypes and I think it's the fact that she's totally cool with that, the fact she seems to love her uniqueness, which gave her such a presence at the London shows.' Dunn's appearance alongside Campbell came last Thursday when the pair flanked the Issa label's designer, Daniella Helayel, as she took her bow before an audience that included Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. It came just days after Campbell admitted she now felt happy at the thought of retiring from fashion because black models such as Dunn were working. source

The Daily Mail is reporting that Nelson Mandela personally banned supermodel Naomi Campbell from his 90th birthday party in South Africa. The former South African president who Naomi Campbell called her "honorary grandfather" is said to have taken offense to  the "46664" baseball cap Naomi Campbell was wearing when she assaulted police officers in Heathrow airport. The numbers "46664" were Nelson Mandela's prison numbers and also represent his AIDS Awareness charity campaign.  Naomi Campbell claims she was called a racial slur by a British Airways employee and that sparked her "air rage".

We understand that Nelson Mandela intervened to ban Naomi Campbell. Is he going to do the same thing with Amy Winehouse? If Mandela is going to cross Amy off the list he is taking too long. Amy Winehouse was involved in a scandals when tapes leaked showing the Rehab singer smoking crack cocaine, singing a racist song chant and engaging in on camera sex acts with her jailed hubby Blake Fielder-Civil. Amy was also reported to be extremely ill and suffering from emphysema. There were also reports that the singer was coughing up blood and had to be admitted to the hospital because she may have contracted tuberculosis. Amy Winehouse's reps have now retracted the statement her father gave about the singer having emphysema and have not confirmed  the TB claims. If Amy Winehouse does have the highly contagious disease TB then she can be considered a health risk. There were reports that the singer was so fragile and sick that she would have medics on standby during her Mandela performance. Nelson Mandela had already contracted the disease tuberculosis during his 27 year prison term. Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday celebration is on Friday.

Nelson Mandela intervened personally to ensure Naomi Campbell does not appear on stage at his 90th birthday concert. He told organisers to take her off the line-up for Friday's Hyde Park charity event.

The former South African leader, who met the Queen at Buckingham Palace today, made his decision after Campbell, 38, was fined and sentenced to 200 hours' community service last week for assaulting two police officers on a BA flight at Heathrow in April. A source close to the event said: 'The man himself intervened and she was pulled off the list. He was disappointed with her recent arrest - particularly as she was wearing a 46664 baseball cap at the time.'

This was Mr Mandela's prison number-during his 27-year sentence and now promotes his AIDS awareness campaign. The source added: 'Naomi was slated to introduce some of the acts on stage as she has done with 46664 concerts in the past, but she has been informed that this time she can only sit in the grandstand.'

Naomi told Sky News that she was called a "Golliwog supermodel" on the flight by a BA employee and the racist slur sparked her air rage. A judge ruled that Naomi Campbell must serve 200 hours community service and pay fines to the police officers she assaulted at Heathrow airport. The Supermodel made a runway appearance in Milan during Men's Fashion Week at the Dolce & Gabbana show.

Sky: Naomi Campbell Arrested at Heathrow

British Airways rejected claims of racism on Saturday after supermodel Naomi Campbell, who pleaded guilty to assault in a foul-mouthed "air rage" incident, said she was likened to a black "Golliwog" doll during the flight.    

BA said it did not accept the accusation made by Campbell, who was convicted of assault on Friday and sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid community work, that someone on the flight called her a "Golliwog supermodel." "British Airways does not accept any allegations of racism," the airline said in a statement. "We are proud of our diversity.

"We have strict policies concerning dignity at work and have long-standing training programs on diversity and inclusion."

Campbell, 38, told Sky News in an interview that her flash of air rage, in which she assaulted two police officers, swore repeatedly and screamed abuse at the captain of the Los Angeles-bound BA flight, was partly prompted by racist comments.

"I was called a racial name on that flight and that was part of my reaction," she said. "I was called a 'Golliwog supermodel' -- I don't think that's really fair, do you?"

Asked who had used the term, which refers to a black rag doll from children's literature, Campbell said: "Someone on the flight, not the passenger." source

We say unexpected because it is men's fashion week, after all. Naomi Campbell is reportedly keen to have a baby after an operation earlier in the year made it easier for her to conceive. A source close to the supermodel told the People newspaper that Naomi has been telling friends: “Now I can have a child I would like one. I’m even willing to have one without a father. I know that I am ready.” The source explained that currently-single Naomi is considering the various options available to her: “Naomi just can’t find the right man but she is desperate to become a mother. “She sees one solution is to have artificial insemination. Naomi is a strong woman and thinks she can give the child everything he or she needs without a man. “She has lots of close friends who she could rely on for help and she is financially secure. “Naomi is aware that her biological clock is ticking.” The source added that Naomi also thinks a baby would help her become more emotional stable, telling friends: “I know that with a baby I would change, I’d calm down. Temperamental model Naomi Campbell was sentenced to 200 hours of community service Friday after pleading guilty to assaulting two police officers after an "air rage" incident at Heathrow Airport.

She was also ordered to pay 200 pounds ($400) to each of the police officers she attacked and 150 pounds ($300) to Miles Sutherland, the captain of the British Airways plane she disrupted, in addition to a 2,300 pound ($4,600) fine.

She could have received six months' jail time and a heavy fine for the six offenses stemming from a violent spat in April with British Airways cabin crew and police who removed her from a flight in handcuffs while waiting on the tarmac at Heathrow.

Prosecutors said Campbell used foul language, kicked and spat at police, accused airline personnel of racism and threatened to sue them after she was told that one of her bags had not been placed on the flight to Los Angeles in April. source

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is in need of some serious anger management and prescription medication. The supermodel showed up at court and plead guilty to assaulting police officers at London Heathrow airport. Naomi is so upset about the charges that she is losing her hair.

Miss Campbell, 38, admitted six offences relating to the fracas after she was removed from a British Airways flight to Los Angeles in April.

She is charged with three counts of assaulting a police officer, disorderly conduct and being abusive and threatening to cabin crew.

She launched the attack during a row over lost luggage at Heathrow's recently opened Terminal 5. She had been on her way to attend a memorial service on April 3 when she was arrested.

She could be jailed for up to six months and fined up to £5,000 for each count of assaulting a constable.

The model's lawyer, Simon Nicholls, said she was "bitterly disappointed" to be charged but respected the prosecutors' decision. source

The fiery 38-year-old – this week charged over an alleged air-rage bust-up – started losing her hair 15 YEARS ago, the friend said.

It began thinning as she kept having extensions – and she ignored warnings about losing her own hair unless she gave it a rest, it is claimed.

Naomi was again snapped with what appeared to be a bald patch this week outside Heathrow police station.

The British Crown Prosecution Service today charged Naomi Campbell with six offenses linked to an alleged outburst last  month on a flight from Heathrow Airport. The supermodel, whose charges could carry a maximum six-month jail sentence  and fines, will be brought to trial at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court here on June 20. Campbell was charged with three counts of assaulting a policeman, one count of disorderly conduct and two counts of using threatening behavior and abusive words to cabin crew. A dispute purportedly arose over lost luggage on a British Airways flight, from which Campbell was forcibly removed. "Miss Campbell is bitterly disappointed that the prosecutors have advised her she is to be prosecuted for various offenses," stated Campbell's lawyer, Simon Nicholls. "She respects the decision and hopes this matter will be dealt with expeditiously."source

ANGRY supermodel Naomi Campbell has claimed she was arrested at Heathrow, after spitting in the face of a police officer, because she was black.

Campbell, 37, showed no remorse only hours after she allegedly spat into a cops face and hurled abuse in a furious row over her luggage, reports The Sun.

The officer had to undergo a precautionary hepatitis and HIV test.

It has since been revealed why Campbell lost the plot moments before boarding. The diva apparently branded her BA flights pilot rude for telling her his plane had to take off on time - even without her bag.

It emerged that she had been told the case exceeded her weight allowance and would follow her to Los Angeles on a later jet.

After being released by police, the catwalk queen said to a pal: "It just goes to show I have to fight for who I am. It's because I'm black," reports The Sun.

Campbell had exploded with rage at Heathrow and was dragged, handcuffed, off a Los Angeles-bound jet. She was arrested and put in a cell before being allowed to phone a lawyer. Then she had a medical check. She later whinged to pals about her treatment.

Campbell will have to wait to find out whether police intend to take the matter further.  source
