If you're looking for a good film to catch should you go prehistoric with 10,000 BC?
This is life before Starbucks and iPods and let me tell ya, it's no joke. The stone age flick stars Steven Strait as a brave, young, dreadlocked mammoth hunter/hero on a journey to secure the future of his tribe and Camilla Belle as the damsel in distress who has been captured by powerful invaders and enslaved.
The special effects in trailer look pretty ill but you know how that goes sometimes. 10,000 BC is being slammed by critics so consider yourself warned. The general consensus is that while 10,000 BC has compelling visuals it has a narratively flimsy epic that's weak on plot and characterization. If you ever wondered what it would have been like to have lived in early civilizations, Director Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow) brings that world to life complete with CGI saber-toothed tigers and woolly mammoths.
