Pop singer Leona Lewis performed at the M6 Live concert in Issy-les Moulineaux France. The Daily Mirror is reporting that the X Factor winner just landed a $2 million dollar gig to perform at a private concert. Great news Leona it's well deserved. Amy Winehouse was offered 2 million dollars an hour for her Moscow performance. Amy wasn't sober enough to perform and sang for the crowd without any panties.

Leona Lewis is charging £1million for personal appearances - less than 18 months after winning the X Factor. The huge fee puts the 23-year-old Londoner in the same pay league as some of the world's biggest stars such as Sir Paul McCartney. Shortly after winning the 2006 X Factor the Bleeding Love star sang at a 40th birthday party in Scotland for an undisclosed six-figure sum. Since then Leona's career has rocketed. LEONA LEWIS LOVES LEATHER WRONGLY VOTED PETA WORLD'S SEXIEST VEGETARIAN CELEBRITY ALIVE 2008

Beautiful pop singer Leona Lewis and Red Hot Chilli Peppers frontman Antony Keidis were voted by PETA as the 'World's Sexiest Vegetarian celebrities of 2008.' PETA quotes Leona Lewis as saying the following.   "I am vegetarian so I don't have clothes, shoes or bags made from leather or suede or any animal products. … I'm on a mission," she says. Wait a minute if that is true about Leona Lewis' mission then why was she "dubiously honored" by PETA after she was spotted on TRL wearing a leather jacket? Bleeding Love singer Leona was also photographed carrying a $990 dollar leather Prada handbag with bird feathers. Leona has some explaining to do. We wonder what she will say because Leona claims she's not trying to be Mariah Carey but we know that she's trying to copy Mariah's style.

LEONA LEWIS ON THE COVER OF BLENDER MAGAZINE

British singing sensation Leona Lewis appears on the cover the July issue of Blender magazine. Blender magazine declares Leona Lewis as a star to watch and says " Look out Mariah Leona Lewis is Pop's Next Megastar." Leona Lewis made history when her album debuted at number 1 in the US. We wonder how Mariah Carey is going to take the news that Leona Lewis is supposed to be the next "It" girl.  Mariah Carey had a feud with Jennifer Lopez. Mariah even accused JLO of copying her fashion style and singing like  her when she suggested Jennifer Lopez  stole her music . Leona Lewis is obviously copying Mariah Carey's fashion style and singing style. Leona Lewis even did one photoshoot where she was wearing the exact same clothing as Mariah Carey. Leona wore a low cut tube top, tight pants and even wore a similar belly chain. Can anyone say that Leona's stylist wasn't a copycat and it was a mistake she was dressed this way?

Mariah had flipped out when Jennifer Lopez was copying her and stealing Mimi's spotlight. Remember when poor Mariah Carey had a nervous breakdown and went crazy on national tv? Leona Lewis claims she's not going to be wearing any Mariah Carey microskirts. We just think it's a matter of time before Leona starts dressing more like Mariah and wearing miniskirts too.  Here's what she says in the July issue of Blender Magazine.

“I don’t wear little miniskirts and low-cut tops. If you want to show your bits off, it’s up to you. … When I was 18, I had a few glasses of Alcopop — they’re bubblegummy drinks with a bit of alcohol — and it was gross. I’ve tasted champagne, which is gross. And I taste d wine, which I don’t like,” Leona tells the music mag.

Mariah Carey says people call her a "ditzy moron" but she would have a valid argument if she said X-Factor winner Leona Lewis was obviously copying her style.  Maybe Mariah Carey will even pretend she doesn't even know who Leona Lewis is during her interviews. LEONA LEWIS MAKES HISTORY WITH NUMBER ONE ALBUM DEBUT ON US CHARTS

Billboard magazine is reporting X-Factor winner Leona Lewis has made US history with her debut album. The 23 year old singer is the first British female solo artist to have an album take the Number #1 spot on the US  singles chart in 21 years. source  Watch the US Version of the Leona Lewis Bleeding Love.

There appears to be no stopping Simon Cowell, the sharp-tongued judge of "American Idol" and man behind U.K. singing competition "The X-Factor." His latest discovery, British R&B singer Leona Lewis, has debuted at No. 1 on this week's U.S. pop chart, selling 205,000 copies of her Syco/J Records debut, "Spirit," according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Lewis, who's been heavily endorsed by gossip blogger Perez Hilton and last month appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," has become the first British solo artist to ever debut atop the Billboard charts, according to the magazine's Web site.

Lewis has already secured a No. 1 single in the U.S. with her "Bleeding Love," and don't look for her momentum to slow. While she will likely be dethroned next week by another pop diva, Mariah Carey, Lewis is slated to appear on "American Idol" the week of April 21.

But don't call her a TV-made artist, said J Records head Clive Davis in a recent interview with the Times. "The TV aspect is irrelevant. I was impressed with [Leona] in the same way Whitney Houston or Alicia Keys auditioned for me. There's no connection with television with my getting involved with her ... I don't think anyone in this country knows of 'The X-Factor'."  source

Leona Lewis stopped by TRL to promote the release of her debut album Spirit. X Factor star Leona Lewis has been compared to Mariah Carey.  We believe the girl is pretty and can sing but we don't really feel much more than the lyrics to make a connection with the artist. Does that make any sense?  The Courant explains in their music review that Leona Lewis 'Spirit' soars in spots but lacks soul or originality. Check out Leona Lewis' performance on Oprah.

 

Although she won the third season of Simon Cowell's British TV talent competition "The X Factor," Leona Lewis doesn't stand out much on her debut. In fact, if you blank for a moment on who you're listening to, it may take a minute to remember that it's Lewis. She sounds like plenty of other latter-day R&B divas: There's a little Mariah Carey, a bit of Christina Aguilera, maybe some Alicia Keys, even a hint of Whitney Houston. What there's not is a lot of originality. That's not to say "Spirit" isn't at times a beautiful record. The production is lush, the songs are well written, and Lewis can certainly sing. It's just a boring record that hews too closely to the modern album template, with a couple of hits and a bunch of filler. The hits, though, will make her huge.  Most of the rest of the album is boilerplate R&B, technically adept and easily forgettable, whether it's the bouncy vocal workout "Yesterday" or the lackluster cover of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face."

The latter points to the biggest sin of these televised competitions: Mimicry is rewarded. You win by appealing to the largest number of people willing to call and vote, which tends to discourage originality. So instead of a crop of innovative young singers, we get would-be stars who (occasionally) have chops imitating the thing they think will make them famous. Often, they're right. But Lewis, and the rest, would do well to remember that having spirit isn't the same thing as having soul.

Her album Spirit is pretty ballad heavy. The first single is "Bleeding Love" but we like two of the up tempo tracks "Misses Glass" and "Forgive Me" produced by Akon. We prefer the UK Version of her music video for Bleeding Love.
