The Hip Hop Summit performance featured Kanye West, T.I., Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and a very pregnant M.I.A. singing "Swagger Like Us" on stage. Click here for more red carpet Grammy photos.
The funniest part was M.I.A.'s outfit because her tummy was so huge that it looked like the singer was going to have her baby on stage. M.I.A. was due to give birth on the night of the Grammy telecast. Check out one of our favorites performances of the night by the rap pack if you missed it.
A tearful Jennifer Hudson won her first Grammy, thanking her family
"in heaven and those who are with me today" to kick off an evening
already stoked with drama when police said they were investigating
double nominee Chris Brown for an alleged assault on an unidentified
woman.
Brown and longtime girlfriend Rihanna, each nominated and
slated to perform, separately dropped out of the Grammys at the last
minute and their whereabouts were not immediately known Sunday night.
The victim of Brown's alleged assault wasn't identified, and it wasn't
immediately clear whether Rihanna's absence was related to Brown's.
Hudson,
27, made no direct reference to the killings of her mother, brother and
nephew that kept her in seclusion until just this month. But while
fighting back tears, she made it clear that her family was foremost on
her mind.
"I first would like to thank God who has brought me
through," said Hudson, also an Oscar winner, as she accepted her award
from Whitney Houston.
Hudson later performed "You Pulled Me
Through," a dramatic song about overcoming deep despair, with the
lyrics: "When I was drowning, when I was so confused, you, you pulled
me through." As she sang the last note, she looked directly into the
camera and dissolved into tears once again.
While Hudson's
emotion was front and center, drama unfolded behind the scenes when
police said just 90 minutes before the show began that they were
investigating the 19-year old Brown. His performance was subsequently
removed from the show, though it was unclear if he bowed out or was
dropped.
All eyes were on a very pregnant M.I.A. who was due to go into labor and have her baby on stage. The Malaysian rapper joined the rap pack Kanye West, T.I., Jay-Z and Lil Wayne on stage for a live performance of their hit "Swagger Like Us". Rihanna and Chris Brown dropped out and canceled their performances as rumors circulated that Chris Brown was arrested for assaulting Rihanna. Congrats to all of the winners!

We know the Grammys are over but we like to share some of our favorite acceptance speeches of the night. People are still talking about Amy Winehouse and her 5 Grammy Wins. Singer Natalie Cole who is the daughter of legendary crooner Nat King Cole has had her own battles with substance abuse. She introduced the award with Tony Bennet and said she wasn't happy that Amy Winehouse was being "rewarded for bad behavior" and it was sending the wrong message to young people.
"I don't think she should have won," said Cole. "I think it sends a bad message to our young people who are trying to get into this business, the ones who are trying to do it right and really trying to keep themselves together. We have to stop rewarding bad behaviour.”
Asked about how Winouse performed, Cole continued: "Her performance was fine. I don't take anything away from her talent, but I just feel like she's stepping into a place that she hasn't earned yet."
“I'm sorry. I think the girl is talented, gifted, but it's not right for her to be able to have her cake and eat it too. She needs to get herself together. “This is about discipline and hard work, and you don't get to just do your drugs and go onstage and get rewarded."
Amy Winehouse who was filmed smoking crack in a video that circulated on the internet recently left a stint in rehab to appear at the Grammys.
In her Grammy Acceptance Speech Amy Winehouse makes a defiant shout out to her jailed hubby Blake Fielder Civil. The Sun UK reports that her husband Blake lied to Amy that he was found unconscious in his jail cell after a failed suicide attempt to hang himself. When Amy found out Blake had lied she was left in tears. The latest news is Amy Winehouse may have a new Blake in her life who works and is a drug-free American vegetarian introduced to her by gal pal Kelly Osbourne. Watch Amy's Grammy Win.
Watch Kanye West's Win. He makes a dedication to his mom, Dr. Donda West who passed away. You can also see how the Grammy producers played music during his speech to try and get him off of the stage.
There were some hits and misses on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. Rihanna wore Zac Posen on the red carpet and during her live performance. Beyonce turned up the volume on her hair by going blonde and wearing Elie Saab. Corrine Bailey Rae rocked Luella. And Alicia Keys had the most costume changes wearing Giorgio Armani on the red carpet. While R&B star Kelis made a fashion statement while wearing "n*gger" to promote her husband rapper Nas and his upcoming album bearing the controversial title.
