A JOYOUS Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres have wed in the backyard of their $33.5 million Beverly Hills estate.
Onlookers said the couple, who wed about 4pm local time, looked “ecstatic and couldn’t keep the smiles off their faces or their eyes off each other,” a witness said.
“Portia looked stunning, like a real fairytale princess.”
De Rossi, 35, wore a plunging halter-neck that exposed her entire back, with a cream bodice and full skirt to the ground in blush pink. Her hair was swept up off her face. The Geelong-raised actor’s gown was reportedly by US designer Zac Posen.
DeGeneres, 50, wore a signature cream shirt, vest and pants combination.
After the intimate wedding in front of about 20 guests, the couple emerged from a marque for official photos.
The pair kissed and hugged the whole time as the official photographer took their picture.
A short interview for Ellen’s show followed the photos, with Ellen, her mother Betty and Portia and her own mother sitting on a backyard bench.
The couples’ two dogs – a white poodle and a black Labrador seemed as excited as the newlyweds, cavorting around the backyard among the guests.
As they wal;ked back to marque Ellen chivalrously swept up the train behind her new wife.
Dozens of paparazzi lines the surrounding hillsides security crews swept he area with binoculars.
A truck from LA celebrity florist Mark's Garden made deliveries throughout the day.
DeGeneres announced her plans to wed her longtime girlfriend on her talk show in May, shortly after California's Supreme Court ruled the ban on gay marriages was unconstitutional.
