Alicia Keys, Mishca Barton, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Rowland,Chiwetel Ejiofor and Top Chef Host Padma Lakshmi were some of the celebrities who attended the Keep a Child Alive HIV/Aids Black Ball Charity event last night in the UK. Alicia Keys looked beautiful and elegant in a black gown. Alicia is very passionate about the charity's mission to help in the fight against AIDS. Congratulations to Missy Elliott for winning 'Best Female Hip Hop Artist' at the 2008 BET Awards. Missy Elliot's album "Block Party" is due for a  September 9th release. Model Petra Nemcova channeled Old Hollywood style with red lips and a Rita Hayworth inspired hairstyle.   

Actress Mischa Barton wore a white pearl necklace as a hair jewel along with diamonds flowers earrings. The 10th Annual White Tie and Tiara Ball to Benefit the Elton John Aids Foundation in association with Chopard was held at Sir Elton John's home in Old Windsor, England. Some of the other celebrities  who attended were Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Denzel Washington, Chris Tucker, Zhang Ziyi,Kelly Osbourne,Elle Macpherson, Liz Hurley and Agyness Deyn. Former president Bill Clinton also attended with his daughter Chelsea Clinton. Supermodel Elle Macpherson also wore hair jewelry to the ball while actress Liz Hurley wore a tiara. We must commend Lil Kim for looking good at the CFDA awards. Honestly we almost didn't recognize the petite rapper on the carpet. Her complexion seems to be getting better with some color. Lil Kim's nose is appearing alot less LaToyaish with the removal of those dents.  Much improved Kim keep up the good work and lay off the knife.

Last weekend LaToya Jackson celebrated her birthday at Prive in Las Vegas.

LaToya was raised a Jehovah's witness so her birthday celebration was a very big deal.

Don't you just love that LaToya is the only Jackson whose name is often used as an adjective to describe other people or their behavior?  She's the wild and crazy Jackson who went naked for Playboy, talked smack about Papa Joe and did infomercials. Happy Birthday LaToya!

Janet Jackson, Denzel Washington and singer India.Arie were some of the celebrities attending the Apollo Hall of Fame ceremony. Singer Janet Jackson presented the Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis Arts and Humanitarian Award to  Denzel Washington and his wife Pauletta Washington during the 4th Annual Apollo Hall Of Fame Gala at the Apollo Theatre.

Denzel Washington has been filming "The Taking of Pelham 123" around New York City.
