Michael Jackson's death has been officially ruled a homicide by the L.A. County Coroner's office. Fans are devastated by the news that MJ was killed by lethal doses of prescription drugs administered by shady Dr. Conrad Murray. Dr. Murray has been busy recording youtube videos to proclaim his innocence while Michael Jackson's fans are left to mourn his memory.
After weeks of speculation and rumors, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office report on the death of Michael Jackson has finally been released. Not only does officially it peg Jackson's death to the lethal levels of the anesthetic propofol in his system, but it also classifies the passing of the late pop legend as a homicide. So far, fan reaction has been a healthy mix of surprise, sadness, anger and outrage.
"I'm a little bit surprised," Jane Brackley of London told MTV News in Times Square. "Then again, you knew he was taking quite a few prescription drugs, and somebody had to give them to him."
Tony Tellez of Rochester, New York, echoed those sentiments. "I'm not surprised at all. It's a terrible thing, but I'm not surprised." Asked what he thought the fate would be of Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician and the target of the police investigation into the star's death, Tellez said, "I think that guy will probably have a hard time getting out of this."
New Yorker Natasha Jane took the news a bit more personally. "It's very disturbing, and the fact that it's a homicide makes it even more devastating," she said. "I'm a singer, so he was one of my inspirations. You just don't expect anything like this to happen to Michael Jackson." [source]
We miss you Michael and will always love you!! R.I.P.
The mystery surrounding Michael Jackson's death is, slowly yet surely, unraveled as it has just been reported that the Los Angeles County coroner has ruled his death a homicide, citing a combination of drugs was the cause. The ruling, thus, makes it more likely that criminal charges will be filed against the late singer's physician Dr. Conrad Murray, who was with the King of Pop the day he passed away on June 25.
The news is first brought to public's notice by the Associated Press. In a report on its site, the news media claims "a designation of homicide means that Jackson died at the hands of another, but does not necessarily mean a crime was committed."
Dr. Conrad has become the person of interest in the manslaughter investigation conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department to determine the event that led to Michael's death due to cardiac arrest. According to a search warrant affidavit unsealed in a Houston court on Monday, August 24, Dr. Conrad admitted he'd been treating Michael for insomnia for six weeks, during when he gave the superstar 50 milligrams of propofol every night.
Fearing that Michael could be addicted to propofol, Dr. Conrad admitted to lowering the dosages and mixing it with two other sedatives, lorazepam and midazolam. He confessed that on the morning Michael passed away, he gave him the same combination of drugs that made him sleep.
At the time of writing, detectives are still investigating whether Dr. Conrad's action can be classified as negligence for an involuntary manslaughter charge. Meanwhile, Michael's family is still waiting for the final words from authorities on what killed the late singer.
And while the official cause of Michael's death will remain sealed until the manslaughter investigation is completed and the final autopsy report is released by the Los Angeles County coroner's office, the Jacksons have confirmed to bury Michael in a private ceremony at Holly Terrace in the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif. on September 3.
