Chris Brown may be awaiting his next day in court for beating up Rihanna but that hasn't stopped the singer from upgrading to a new girlfriend. Chris Brown stressed some of the important characteristics he looks for in a girlfriend last year during one interview about Rihanna.

UPDATE : E! reports that Latina Girlicious singer Natalie Mejia was photographed with Chris Brown at a tattoo parlor on Sunset Boulevard.

The New York Daily News spotted Chris Brown with his girl, Erica Johnson, over the weekend. This is not a good look for Chris Brown who has been charged with 2 counts of assault against Rihanna.

MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Erica and Chris have been dating off and on for the last few years - with much of the "on" time occurring during his relationship with Rihanna.

Anyway, according to number of news sources the two of them are now "officially" an item.

But here's where the story gets a bit bizarre. According to one of MediaTakeOut.com's snitches, the above woman, who is reportedly Erica, went with Chris to a tattoo parlor in Los Angeles over the weekend. And according to our snitch, she got a "tattoo with stars" which looked very similar to the one that Rihanna and Chris have behind their ears. [MEDIA TAKEOUT]

Actually, the fact that he is parading this girl around and having her get Rihanna tattoos looks worse than when he was on the jetskis.

Chris Brown is moving on.

The R&B singer has started dating again since his troubled relationship with pop chanteuse Rihanna ended last month, and it appears he has gotten back together with another ex-girlfriend.

Brown’s new/old lady is University of Mary Washington student Erica Jackson. “[Chris and Erica] met in Virginia, where he’s from,” a source close to the singer says. “They dated back in the day and reconnected a few weeks ago when Chris was in town. They’ve been spending a lot of time together, but things only really heated up over the last two weeks.”

And while Jackson is “no Rihanna,” the general consensus among his friends and family is that the new girl is going to be good for him in the long run. “[Erica] has a good head on her shoulders; she’s solid,” says our insider. Chris and his new gal pal were spotted leaving a Sunset Blvd. tattoo parlor on Saturday afternoon.

“She’s more of a plain Jane — cute though,” says our source. At the very least, she’s helping to ease Chris’ pain over Rihanna. He was mad in love with that girl.”

According to pals, the “mad” one in this love trifecta will be Rihanna herself. “She is going to be pissed!” says a pal of the pop starlet. “Ri is going to be so hurt that Chris has moved on so quickly and is parading this new girl around town.”

Regardless of her emotional state concerning her ex, Rihanna is currently preparing to help the Los Angeles district attorneys in their case against Brown. “[Rihanna] will do everything that the law requires her to do. . . . nothing has changed,” the songbird’s lawyer, Donald Etra, said recently.

A rep for Brown tells us, “He did go to a tattoo parlor with someone from the studio named Dean. There was a woman there who was a friend of Dean. There is no truth to this at all. Chris does not know the woman nor does he know the name of the woman.”

The “No Air” singer pleaded not guilty to charges of felony assault and making criminal threats on April 6. To pay his legal fees, Brown has reportedly sold one of his houses in his hometown of Tappahannock, Va. [NYDN]

In an interview with People.com, Tyrese Gibson spoke out in support of his friend Chris Brown, as well as Rihanna. What do you think about Chris Brown's new girl? Chris doesn't appear remorseful and the fact that he is moving on so quickly is showing that he's not about to give up his wife beating ways.

"Although he appears to be really strong through all of this, it's really taking a toll on his spirit," Gibson reportedly told the site on Sunday at the 2009 Ball Up Street Ball Tour in Los Angeles. "People like me and Puff [Diddy], we're just trying to show him love and keep his spirits up while he's going through all of the heat, and there are a lot people doing the same for Rihanna."

Since news broke in February of the alleged altercation between Brown and Rihanna, the pair reportedly reunited — staying at Diddy's Miami home — but are now reportedly taking a break. Yet conversation around the incident has continued to rage, and was even the subject of a special episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" earlier this month and a disturbing public service announcement from the teen organization DoSomething.org.

Gibson also pointed out that the two are still quite young, which makes the situation even more difficult. "And a lot of people forget that he's 19, she's only 21.

"It's really hard for him to focus right now on his music, even though he really wants to," Gibson continued. "At the end of the day, I'm not trying to justify it because wrong is wrong, but unfortunately, us as entertainers, we have to grow up onstage with a lot of people looking at us." source
