Oscar winning screenwriter and actor Matt Damon expressed his fears about Sarah Palin's bid and lack of qualifications to be Vice President. Matt Damon said that the fact that Sarah Palin could become president was like " a bad disney movie." College Humor responded to Matt Damon's comments with the release of a Sarah Palin parody trailer called "Head of
Skate". The clip shows the Republican Vice Presidential candidate's
rise to political power from Alaska Hockey mom to President. Watch the
video and Matt Damon's interview that sparked the debate and parody.
Matt Damon Condemns Palin
Actor Matt Damon admits that he’s frightened by the prospect that Republican vice presidential nomineeSarah Palin could become president if John McCain wins the upcoming election.
“And I think that’s a really scary thing because I don’t know
anything about her,” says Damon. “I know she was a mayor of a really,
really small town. And she was governor of Alaska for less than two
years. I just don’t understand . . . I think the pick was made for
political purposes but in terms of governance it’s a disaster.”
“You do the actuary tables and there’s a one-out-of-three chance, if
not more, that McCain doesn’t survive his first term and it will be
President Palin,” said Damon.
“It’s like a really bad Disney movie, “The Hockey Mom.’ Oh, I’m just
a hockey mom from Alaska, and she’s president,” said Damon. “She’s
facing down Vladimir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at
the hockey rink. It’s absurd.” source
Barack Obama and John McCain's first presidential debate went ahead as planned. Who won the Obama/McCain debate? According to CNN analysis of the first debate Barack Obama was considered to be the overall winner. Vote for Barack Obama & Joe Biden in '08. Watch the video if you missed the debate.
John McCain accused Barack Obama of compiling "the most liberal
voting record in the United States Senate" Friday night as the two
rivals clashed over taxes, spending, the war in Iraq and more in an
intense first debate of the White House campaign. "Mostly that's just
me opposing George Bush's wrong-headed policies," shot back the
Democrat.
Obama said his Republican rival has been a loyal supporter of the
unpopular president, adding that the current economic crisis is "a
final verdict on eight years of failed economic policies promoted by
President Bush and supported by Sen. McCain."
The two men were polite but pointed as they debated at close quarters for 90 minutes on the University of Mississippi campus.
McCain accused his younger rival of an "incredible thing of voting
to cut off funds for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan," a reference to
legislation that cleared the Senate more than a year ago.
Obama disputed that, saying he had opposed funding in a bill that
presented a "blank check" to the Pentagon while McCain had opposed
money in legislation that included a timetable for troop withdrawal. source

the children, but we spend a lot of time together, which I think is
really important.” She added: “‘I love him more now than I did when I

It seems that everyone doesn't always think Borat comedian Sacha Baron Cohen is funny. The funny man was arrested in Milan for hijacking a fashion show as the flamboyant character "Bruno". Sacha Baron Cohen also plays the popular character Ali G. Watch the video to see the chaos.
Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen was taken to a police station yesterday
after he brought chaos to the Milan fashion show for the second day
running.
Despite the increased security after he evaded guards and burst backstage to changing rooms he again managed to get in.
Cohen,
best known for his bizarre character Borat, caused havoc after storming
the catwalk during the Agata Luiz della Prada show. Earlier this week scantily clad models screamed and security guards dived on him when he burst into a show by Italian designer Iceberg.TV footage screened on Italian TV showed Cohen dressed as his creation Bruno a flamboyant Austrian fashionista.
Cohen is in Milan working on a new film called Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Male.
The movie is being shot in the same documentary style as 2006's smash hit Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
Wearing fake passes, Cohen and his film crew managed to get past security to the backstage area of Italian label Iceberg's show.
The footage showed an actor dressed in head-to-toe velcro and wearing a blonde wig running about, screaming and hurling himself at the clothes racks. source
Sarah Palin attended former president Bill Clinton's Global Initiative's meeting in New York.
But everyone is talking about Katie Couric's CBS interview with Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. A complete viewing of the interview explains why Palin has kept a low profile with the press and media. Some of the highlights of the interview occured when Palin explained her position on Foreign Policy and her experience. Katie Couric asked Palin about her quote that "Alaska is close to Russia" so that gives her foreign policy and negotiation experience. Huh? Is something missing from this memo? This is the same type of logic and reasoning that would imply that if Sarah Palin was able to see the Eiffel Tower or the Arc de Triomphe in France from Alaska then she could chalk that up as foreign policy experience too. This is baffling. Watch the entire interview if you missed it.
Katie Couric: As we stand before this august building and institution, what do you see as the role of the United States in the world?
Sarah Palin: I see the United States as being a force for good in the world. And as Ronald Reagan used to talk about, America being the beacon of light and hope for those who are seeking democratic values and tolerance and freedom. I see our country being able to represent those things that can be looked to … as that leadership, that light needed across the world.
Couric: In preparing for this conversation, a lot of our viewers … and Internet users wanted to know why you did not get a passport until last year. And they wondered if that indicated a lack of interest and curiosity in the world.
Palin: I'm not one of those who maybe came from a background of, you know, kids who perhaps graduate college and their parents give them a passport and give them a backpack and say go off and travel the world.
No, I've worked all my life. In fact, I usually had two jobs all my life until I had kids. I was not a part of, I guess, that culture. The way that I have understood the world is through education, through books, through mediums that have provided me a lot of perspective on the world.
Couric: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?
Sarah Palin: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and, on our other side, the land-boundary that we have with Canada. It's funny that a comment like that was kinda made to … I don't know, you know … reporters.
Couric: Mocked?
Palin: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.
Couric: Well, explain to me why that enhances your foreign-policy credentials.
Palin: Well, it certainly does, because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I am the executive of. And there…
Couric: Have you ever been involved in any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?
Palin: We have trade missions back and forth, we do. It's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia. As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there, they are right next to our state. source

Late Night funny man David Letterman ripped into Republican candidate McCain for lying about the reason why he canceled his appearance on the Letterman show. John McCain did however conduct an interview with CBS correspondent Katie Couric at the time Letterman's show was taping. David Letterman even went as far to suggest that McCain's reason for calling off his debate with Barack Obama and dissing him were due to the fact that he is trailing in the polls. Letterman states in the clip. "You don't suspend your campaign. This doesn't smell right. This isn't
the way a tested hero behaves." And he joked: "I think someone's
putting something in his metamucil."
Kanye West's Look At That Girl With A Baby In The Club
A new clip has emerged online showing a pilot Kanye West has filmed for Comedy Central called Alligator Boots. The show features crank yankers type puppets and has been described as a "hip-hopMuppet show". Kanye West also had puppets in his "Champion" music video. Watch the clip before it disappears.
The Hollywood Reporter had the news this morning that West is developing a show described as "hip-hop meets the Muppets" for Comedy Central. This isn't completely new territory for the uptown rapper, as Stereogrum reminds us that Kanye has already gotten the puppet treatment via his video for "Champion,"
Whether the news that West has shot a half-hour pilot interests you
will likely depend on A) your interest in Kanye (he's good), or B) your
thoughts on Jackhole Productions, the Jimmy Kimmel-associated company
that was behind Comedy Central's "Crank Yankers" (a show that was bad). But credit West for looking for fresh ways to expand his own brand, and thankfully avoiding the bad action-movie route that befell fellow Chi-Town rapper Common.
But beyond seeing a puppet-tized version of Kanye, perhaps the real
reason to tune in will be one of West's collaborators in the series,
yet another Midwest-bred rapper in Rhymefest. Billed as an exec producer on the show, the working-class musician released one of the stronger albums of 2008, and it doesn't cost a dime. His collaboration with celeb producer Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse) for the Michael Jackson tribute "Man in the Mirror" is a free download away,
and humanizes Jackson while struggling to manage one's own aspirations
in a fame-obsessed culture. Any more exposure for Rhymefest is welcome. source
Janet Jackson has officially left her Def Jam/Island record label. The R&B songstress celebrated her boyfriend producer/record executive Jermaine Dupri's 36th birthday at Tenjune. Janet is currently still on tour.
Janet Jackson has terminated her relationship with her label, Island Records, her publicist announced Monday.
"At her request, the record label has agreed to dissolve their
working relationship," the singer's rep said in a statement to PEOPLE.
"Now more than 20 years after the release of her iconic album, Control, Janet will have autonomy over her career, without the restrictions of a label system."
A rep for Island Records had no comment.
Jackson,
42, first discussed her label woes in June, when she told the hip hop
Web site SOHH.com, "I'm trying to figure out a way to say this, but
just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion
whatsoever on the album, so I don't think you're going to hear another
single off this album."

Clay Aiken broke the hearts of many Claymates when he put rumors to rest about his sexuality. The former American Idol contestant revealed to People Magazine that he is gay and happy to be a new dad. Clay Aiken is the father to his son Parker who was conceived by his friend Jaymes Foster via artificial insemination.
Following the Aug. 8 birth of his son Parker, singer Clay Aiken is following through on a promise he made to himself as a new dad: to publicly acknowledge that he's gay.
"It was the first decision I made as a father," Aiken, 29,
tells the upcoming issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. "I cannot
raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn't raised that way, and
I'm not going to raise a child to do that."
Aiken says he expects the news may overwhelm some of his fans.
"Whether it be having a child out of wedlock, or whether it be simply
being a homosexual, it's going to be a lot," said Aiken, who returned to Broadway last week as Sir Robin in Monty Python's Spamalot.
He adds that he hopes his fans "know that I've never intended
to lie to anybody at all. ... But if they leave, I don't want them to
leave hating me. source
