Rihanna is broke according to new rumors. The Umbrella singer had a nasty split from her ex-business manager Patricia Williams and accused her of stealing her money after she reportedly discovered she had only $20,000 dollars in her bank account. We don't know if the story is true, however, Rihanna was spotted shopping with her boyfriend Chris Brown. Rihanna was seen shopping on Melrose in WeHo wearing the same Balenciaga Gladiator boots that she wore during an appearance on BET 106 & Park.

Rihanna is wearing a pair of elaborate gladiator boots by Balenciaga. These puppies cost upwards of $12,000. I’m hoping these are loaners from Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière, otherwise, that’s $12,000 Rihanna dropped on a pair of boots that will cause onlookers to spontaneously break out into seizures. source

The news about Rihanna's financial situation doesn't make it seem as though the expensive luxury items fit into her budget.

According to blackarazzi.com the singer fired Patricia Williams and accused her of stealing her money when she realised the poor state of her finances.
Williams said: "It’s not my fault that she only has $20,000 to her name… I have worked for many high profile actors, musicians and multi-million dollar corporations. Why would I steal from Rihanna?”

The business manager explained: “I showed her all the paperwork and tried to explain to her the circumstances but she wouldn’t listen. She called me all sorts of horrible names and stormed off.”

Rihanna’s single Umbrella was number one on both sides of the Atlantic while her recent album Good Girl Gone Bad has sold around 5 million copies worldwide.

She has also performed stadium tours across the US and Europe and signed lucrative sponsorship deals.

So it’s a surprise that the Barbados born singer is skint. Williams has accused her label Def Jam of not funding Rihanna properly.
