Amy Winehouse is speaking in tongues and we feel the need to translate her "crackhead tendencies". The ailing singer is determined to perform for former South African president Nelson Mandela. Doctors have warned the Rehab singer that she must quit smoking crack or she will die. Amy's father Mitch also announced that Amy Winehouse is suffering from emphysema and diminished lung capacity as a result of her smoking habit. There are also reports that the singer may have contracted the highly contagious disease tuberculosis. Despite Amy's fragile health her friends told the Mirror that Amy is more concerned about finding her lucky pendant containing a lock of her husband Blake's hair so she can give her best performance. Are we missing something here?
We believe that the top priority should be on Amy's failing health. There should also be consideration for the other individuals and crowds who can have their health jeporadized by coming in contact with someone who should be quarantined and treated for TB. Some websites are taking advantage of 24 year old singer Amy Winehouse's rapid decline. A website was launched called WhenWIllAmyWinehouseDie.com which promises to gift the winner who determines the Rehab singer's death date with an iPod Touch. We don't agree with the concept of this website and hope the singer can get the help she needs to recover.
Despite her fragile health, brave Amy is determined not to let her supporters down, or miss out on the chance to play for her most famous fan, Mandela, at Friday's gig in London's Hyde Park.
But a special St John's ambulance crew will be on permanent standby for the stricken star, who was hospitalised with emphysema last week.
And concert organisers are taking no chances. Fearing loose cannon Amy could make herself ill and miss the show, they are set to refuse her request for alcopops and vodka to be included in her rider.
AdvertisementAmy's notorious entourage could also be banned after fed-up dad Mitch pleaded: "What hope does she have if people are taking drugs around her? I don't want her hanging out with mates like Pete Doherty."
Instead, Amy's backstage boudoir will include a private hospital suite with a massage bed and paramedics.
And her dressing room will be a booze-free zone, filled with her favourite sweets - jelly beans and Fruit Pastels - to keep her spirits up.
Now all Amy has to do is find her lucky charm and she'll be ready to rock 'n' roll with the best of 'em!
A friend tells us: "After everything Amy has been through, her main fear is that she has lost her lucky pendant containing a lock of hubby Blake's hair. Amy is desperate to find it because she reckons she can only perform at her best when she's wearing it."
With or without one of jailbird Blake's greasy locks, Amy's relieved fans are certain to let their hair down should she finally take to the stage later this week. source
