Here is the music video for the Ne-Yo single "Closer" Off of the album "Year Of The Gentlemen" that's dropping on June 24th. We like this video directed by Melina. We weren't really feeling Ne-Yo's last Hype William's directed music video for his song "Go On Girl". We like the song "Closer" and this video is better than some of Ne-Yo's other clips. Our only suggestion to Ne-Yo is that he comes up with his own image and doesn't focus on doing Michael Jackson's dance moves. Does Ne-Yo look better with or without the hat?
It's not hard for Ne-Yo to change up his style. All Ne-Yo needs to do is to hire a good choreographer.
He needs to figure out something else to hang on to instead of his hat or a microphone in his music videos. Ne-Yo's suit, dance moves and vintage microphone swag are similar to Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal music video. Click here to watch MJ as a Smooth Criminal and compare the clips.
Memphis Tennesse native Justin Timberlake was accused of being a Michael Jackson knock off who was manufactured as an "Elvis Presley like King of Pop". Singer Elvis Presley who is originally from Memphis has been hailed as the "Undisputed King of Rock and Roll". However, Elvis has also been accused of "stealing" black rhythm and blues, and re-recording songs by black blues performers who were not allowed to have their music played on the segregated radio stations across America.source JT was compared to Usher who he was also accused of copying when he first started his solo career after leaving the group NSYNC. Check out Justin Timberlake's Like I Love You Video where he does his interpretation of Usher and Michael Jackson. One can see the influence of other artists on Justin Timberlake's wardrobe too. He rocks Usher's crocheted cap, Michael Jackson's hat, gloves and a combination of both artists choreography. In Justin Timberlake's first solo music video he even used Usher's video girl, the beautiful Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Shakara, who appeared with Usher in his "U Remind Me" music video. source
Justin Timberlake was panned by critics after his 2002 debut solo performance at the MTV VMA's.
The performance many people were dying to see was *NSYNC'er Justin Timberlake's solo debut. Timberlake emerged from a giant boom-box ghetto blaster for his song Like I Love You from his upcoming solo CD, Justified. The song began with an acoustic intro, plenty of electronic-style beats and Justin Timberlake's soulful voice. Did anyone else get a Michael Jackson vibe from this performance? The moves, the tipping of the hat and the longer-than-usual sections with Justin singing so high you'd think his leather pants were too tight! His voice sounded good and his dance moves were great but I think the song had too many effects going on. source
Today Justin Timberlake is hailed as the new "King of Pop" and credited with bringing "Sexy Back." Watch Justin Timberlake's live Performance of Like I Love You with a giant boom box on stage at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards. Usher did a video with the boom box for his "My Way" music video.
