Nas has lashed out at magazine Maxim after they wrote a premature bad review of his N*gger album. The magazine issued his new album a low rating of 2 1/2 stars but it's not even finished yet. This isn't the first time this month the magazine gave a bad review to an album. Maxim caused a controversy when they also issued a bad review to the Black Crowes album called War Paint without listening to it. Here's what Nas told Page Six.
"I'm finishing the album now, and it will be out April 22," Nas told Page Six. Maxim has since apologized for the premature review, but Nas doesn't care. "I'd prefer [a review from] Playboy," the rapper said. "That kind of stuff doesn't reach my radar or effect anybody around me. I don't know what a music rating from Maxim is . . . I don't know what it even means really."
Maxim issued the following apology In an effort to protect their reputation.
To our readers:
It is Maxim's editorial policy to assign star ratings only to those albums that have been heard in their entirety. Unfortunately, that policy was not followed in the March 2008 issue of our magazine and we apologize to our readers.

Editorial Director, Maxim
Nas' controversial upcoming album titled "Nigger" has been put on hold a few times. It was first due for release in December 2007, then February 2008 (Black History Month) and is now expected this spring (April 22nd) according to Nas.
Check out this in depth interview Nas did recently on Jamie Foxx's Foxxhole Radio show where he explains why he chose the controversial album title, his Grammy Award ceremony red carpet attire, hip hop, politics and several other hot topics.
Will his album ever see the light of day or will Nas be forced to change the title? For answers to those questions, you would have to check with the man in charge at Island Def Jam, Chairman Antonio "L.A." Reid. In a recent interview with SOHH, LA Reid spoke about the Nas album, "N*gger" and what we can expect from the Queensbridge MC.
When asked if the new Nas album will be released with the n-word title, Reid replied:
"We'll have to see. Hopefully we'll get it in April or May. Something like that, somewhere around there. It's getting there, we're getting close. Expect Nas to educate us without preaching to us. Expect him to give a point of view that maybe the world hasn't thought about. Expect him to really enlighten us." [SOURCE]
