Rapper Busta Rhymes' former bodyguard was found dead in Queens, New York on Wednesday (May 28).  He had been shot multiple times. The bullet-riddled body of Jermaine Williams, 35, was discovered wrapped in a blanket in the backseat of his bloody SUV in Ozone Park.  Police have yet to arrest any suspects in connection with the murder.

Williams' family said the Bronx father of two had been visiting his grandmother but went missing for nearly 24 hours.

SOHH reports Rhymes (born Trevor Smith), who is currently on tour in Europe released a statement saying:

"We have all suffered a great loss and Jermaine Williams will be deeply missed. He has remained a dear friend, even though we have not worked together in 8 years. Our condolences and prayers go out to his family and we ask that we be allowed to mourn the loss of our friend in peace."

This is the second Busta Rhymes bodyguard to be murdered in two years.  The murder of Israel Ramirez, who was gunned down in 2006 during a star-studded music video shoot in Brooklyn just feet away from the rapper, remains unsolved to this day. (source)

BUSTA RHYMES SENTENCED TO 3 YEARS PROBATION | JUDGE ISSUES WARNING

Busta_rhymes

Rapper Busta Rhymes (real name Trevor Smith, Jr., 35) was recently sentenced (March 18) by a New York judge to 3 years probation for assaulting a fan in August 2006 and his former driver in December 2006.

In addition to 3 years of probation for his role in 2 assault cases, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Larry Stephens ordered Rhymes to complete 10 days of community service as a part of his sentence.  For driving with a suspended license (2006) and driving while intoxicated (2007), he must pay a $1,250 fine and court costs as well as participate in an anti-drunk driving program.

Judge Stephens warned the Grammy-nominated rapper to stay out of trouble and said, "If you mess up, you're going to jail.  I've given you a chance."

Busta Rhymes seemed to appreciate his freedom and to be glad to finally put this behind him.  He told reporters after the sentencing, "I couldn't feel better and this couldn't have happened at a better time. I thank the judge for giving me a chance and I thank everybody for being supportive."  He also said, "I have no problem being a good dude because that's what I am," and that he wanted to get back to "having fun, making music, running around and showing love."
