DAVID ARCHULETA'S DAD JEFF BANNED FROM AMERICAN IDOL BACKSTAGE

American Idol favorite David Archuleta may have made it to the top 3 finals but his father Jeff is banned from backstage privileges during the show. Check out David singing John Lennon's "Imagine".

Archuleta family friends are speaking out to PEOPLE in support of Idol finalist David Archuleta’s father, Jeff, whose backstage privileges have been revoked until further notice, according to reports.

Jeff Archuleta was accused of interfering in the production when he wanted David, 17, to alter his “Stand By Me” performance by adding a verse from Sean Kingston’s 2007 summer hit “Beautiful Girls,” against producers’ wishes.

“I get frustrated with this because of course they never get the story the way it really is,” says Richard Parkinson, 35, of Murray, Utah, who for the last three years has been working with David Archuleta on arrangements, and has also written and performed with the young Idol star. “It is completely unfair that he be taking the brunt of this, if that’s exactly what’s going on. It’s awful … It’s really awful.”

David’s voice coach, Dean Kaelin, told PEOPLE in an email Saturday: “He is just not allowed to go into the arranging sessions with David. It is more of a fairness issue than anything else, since the other two contestants don’t have people on site to help with their arrangements. It is not a punishment.”

Kaelin calls David “a good kid” and adds: “Jeff just happens to be there because David is a minor and is required by law to have a guardian with him. David’s dad is just a caring, concerned parent that fortunately has some musical expertise, and some people fear that because of this David receives an unfair advantage.” source

TMZ claims American Idol frontrunner David Archuleta has a "stage dad from hell" who has previously intimidated competitors when David performed on Star Search. The Today show examined the influence of Jeff Archuleta on American Idol contestant David Archuleta's stage performances. Tonight's American Idol featured performances from the Dolly Parton songbook. Our favorite Dolly Parton song is "I Will Always Love You" performed by Whitney Houston.

Sources close to "Star Search" tell TMZ that when David was a contestant back in the day, Jeff's behavior was so bad, he was eventually barred from the lot! The guards actually had a picture of Jeff's mug hanging in the guard shack in case he tried sneaking in.

We're also told the father of the year harassed Tiffany Evans, his "Star Search" rival, lurking outside her practices, even trying to coerce her into drinking milk before a show to ruin her voice. She didn't listen (obviously) and went on to win. source

Salt Lake City native, David Archuleta was the 17 year-old American Idol front runner and favorite until his performance yesterday. Maybe the Beatles song selection, bigger stage and pressure is getting to him.

On Tuesday,David flubbed and forgot the lyrics while appearing extremely awkward. Our least favorite performance was a country version of "Eight Days a Week" performed by Kristy Lee Cook. American Idol judge Simon Cowell said Kristy sounded like "Dolly Parton on helium." Tonight more will be revealed to show which singers in the top 12 will be voted off.      Chikezie, Carly Smithson, David Cook and Michael Johns were all  standouts  on Tuesday, but Chikezie really surprised the judges with his "O Brother Where Art Thou" inspired rendition of "She's a Woman". In the Ten Commandments of American Idol, No. 1 is: 'Thou Shalt Not Forget The Lyrics!" That particular tenet wasn't the only thing David Archuleta forgot last night during his unexpectedly awful performance of "We Can Work It Out." Not only did he lose the lyrics (twice), but he looked extremely uncomfortable on the big stage, something that shouldn't have happened considering David actually won Star Search 2 in 2003. source

Controversy swirls for 'Idol' girl

"I believe anybody that has more experience, someone who has been signed to a major label, of course that gives you an advantage. The question is, is that fair to someone like me, that has never done this before?" said Nina Shaw, a former contestant on this season's "American Idol."

Shaw was voted off the road to stardom, after a round of competition with contestant Carly Smithson. Under a different name, Smithson was an Irish singing sensation, signed to a six-record deal with MC records in 1999. In total, the label invested more than $2 million in her album. Top 50 contestant Jermaine Paul who was signed to J Records, sang with Alicia Keys and was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Kristy Lee Cook was once signed with BRITNEY SPEARS' production company.

Michael Johns' formerly Michael Lee had a band Film that was signed with Madonna’s Maverick label, until they were dropped.

Carly Smithson recorded with MCA as artist Carly Hennesy with a $2 million dollar record deal, but she was dropped for poor sales.  Her debut album sold less than 300 copies.

She also auditioned in Las Vegas during American Idol Season 5 and was chosen to sing in Hollywood but didn't attend due to Visa problems. Paula Abdul commented during Season 5, "I think she's the best one we've ever seen."  CHECK OUT HER MUSIC VIDEO BLOW YOUR MIND.

Robbie Carrico sang with Boyz-N-Girlz United, an Orlando boy/girl band.

David Archuleta won on Star Search in 2003 when he was just 12 years old.  16 year-old David said in his audition video that he was afflicted with vocal paralysis a few years ago.

But a few years ago David sang for American Idol Season 1 contestants Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini. Check out the video below.

FANTASIA BARRINO IS NOT PREGNANT WITH RAPPER YOUNG DRO'S BABY | JESSICA SIERRA IS PREGNANT IN JAIL

Lately, rumors have been rampant in the blogosphere, that American Idol winner, Fantasia Barrino, is pregnant with rapper Young Dro's (pictured below) baby.

The NY Post recently reported that the former star of “The Color Purple" had missed nearly 50 performances. And this fact seemed to fuel the speculation that Fantasia was about to be a baby mama again.  The NY Post even published a follow up story, 'Purple Parent'. In the article the newspaper cites the blogs as "reliable sources" and addresses the blog rumors. Here's an excerpt:

"Does Fantasia Barrino have a bun in the oven? Yes, say several reliable bloggers including MediaTakeOut.com and celebrity writer Jonathan Jaxson, who credit Atlanta rapper Young Dro with being the father. Barrino's flack didn't get back to us, but an upcoming visit from the stork might explain the star's numerous absences from the Broadway smash "The Color Purple," which she's just left."

The official answer to the pregnancy question is an emphatic, "NO".  

A rep from her Broadway show, The Color Purple, tells Usmagazine.com. "Fantasia is not pregnant and the Internet rumors are entirely untrue. Barrino's rep confirms to Us. "It is true that she has missed some performances because she has gotten sick from time to time over the nine months, but doing eight shows a week is a lot so she missed a few."

So, that's it. Fantasia Barrino is not pregnant.  She's not preggers, knocked up, getting a new baby daddy or in for a whole lotta baby mama drama.  Whew.  That's a mouthful.  But you get the point. 

JESSICA SIERRA IS PREGNANT IN JAIL.

In other related American Idol news, former Finalist Jessica Sierra is pregnant. According to TMZ, sources confirmed that Jessica Sierra, is in fact knocked up in jail.  The 22-year-old is currently in the infirmary of the Falkenburg Road Jail in Florida on a "pregnancy diet" after her unborn child was conceived with a "rapper", reports website TMZ.com.

Earlier this month, Sierra pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest and violating conditions of her parole on earlier felony battery and possession charges, following a drunken bar brawl. Local officials claim Sierra begged police officers not to arrest her in return for oral sex.

She was also charged with cocaine possession after cops found a small amount of the illegal substance on her as she was taken to jail. And Sierra recently became the latest celebrity to star in a leaked sex tape, which a major porn distributor is planning to release. The footage shows the disgraced 22-year-old in a variety of sexual poses in what looks like a motel room.

Jessica Sierra didn't win American Idol. But we think Jessica should definitely be nominated for most "Baby Mama Drama of the Year".  What do you think?  Remember Fantasia's song "Baby Mama"?

J Records Drops Ruben Studdard

According to SOHH the promising “American Idol” winner , Ruben Studdard, has been dropped by his record label J Records due to the under performance of his third album.    His debut album Soulful went platinum and his sophomore record also did well reaching gold.  However, his 2006 project the Return has barely sold 235,000 copies and had fallen short of the record labels expectations.

But Studdard is not letting his label news upset him - he's keeping busy with plans to play jazz great Fats Waller in a theatre tour of Ain't Misbehavin'. He is also scheduled to make an appearance in his hometown Birmingham, Alabama this weekend with his old band Just a Few Cats at the WorkPlay soundstage.
