R&B superstar Usher Raymond testified at a hearing in Washington D.C on the importance of volunteerism and renewing America through national service. This is his first major public appearance since his wife Tamek Foster suffered a medical emergency from plastic surgery.
Usher was in Washington, D.C. yesterday, February 25th to meet with politicians. The singer, along with Shawn Wilson, president of Usher's nonprofit New Look Foundation, talked with Rep. George Miller and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy.
The four had a meeting before a hearing about the importance of community service and volunteerism. The four talked at the House Education and Labor Committee Hearing Room.
It appears Usher takes the importance of volunteerism to heart. Just last month, he and a group of about 200 young volunteers made over Simon Elementary School in Washington, D.C.
There have been no reports on what progress was made in yesterday's hearing.
Usher was most recently in Sao Paulo, Brazil after his wife, Tameka Foster-Raymond, suffered a cardiac arrest. She was in Sao Paulo to have liposuction after the birth of the couple's second son.
