We know it's been a while and want to update you on the latest and greatest happenings. You guys made "Red Doors" the number one indie film on it's opening weekend which is pretty remarkable. Here is a quote from the RED DOORS website "RED DOORS opened this weekend as the top grossing film per screen in the country. In an otherwise dismal box office weekend, RED DOORS grossed a total of $35,050 on two screens in New York City for a per screen average of $17,525." The movie has already opened in LA and San Francisco.
We've seen some new movies which are generating buzz and opening soon. Darren Aronofsky's film "The Fountain" opens theatrically on November 22 and boasts stunning cinematography by Matthew Libatique and amazing special effects. Derek Luke and Tim Robbins give powerhouse performances in "Catch a Fire" about the true story of South African Apartheid. We love docs too and here are a few you should check out which are currently in theaters. We caught Al Franken : And God Spoke, Jesus Camp and 49 UP while they were on the festival circuit and consider them to be recommended viewing if you dig politics. "Conventioneers" is a cinema verite docu-drama shot during the 2004 RNC.
It won the 2006 John Cassavetes Independent Spirit award and opens Oct 20 in NYC, LA, Portland, Austin, Seattle, DC in the weeks after that. Click here to watch the trailer.
